Virtual Realisms Public Lecture Series

20th March 2025, at 18:00 The Fabrication Lab, Marylebone Campus, University of Westminster

In this talk You+Pea will discuss their research and teaching using videogames as a platform for architectural design. Sandra and Luke will speak about how game technologies offer novel ways of conceptualising the built environment, bringing new audiences into architectural design processes. Referencing projects completed in their studio, they will explore how their work operates between game design and architecture, combining disciplines to form new research fields. Sandra and Luke will also talk about how this has led to innovations in architectural teaching, including the Videogame Urbanism studio and the founding of the Bartlett’s new Cinematic and Videogame Architecture MArch programme.

You+Pea is the architectural design studio of Sandra Youkhana and Luke Caspar Pearson. Their work integrates videogame technologies into architectural design, leading conversations on how games can engage new participants in the design of cities. They established the Cinematic and Videogame Architecture programme at the Bartlett School of Architecture, and lecture on the subject worldwide. Website: www.youandpea.com Instagram: @youandpea
